We are the only Mr. Pig in the world! You are nobody!
―Mr. Pig to Pumbaa[src]

Mr. Pig is a male pig. He is the reigning champion of the Mr. Pig Contest.

When Pumbaa the warthog proclaimed that he was a "Mr. Pig" himself, Mr. Pig denounced his claim and pointed out that he was the reigning champion of the Mr. Pig Contest. Though Pumbaa tried to best Mr. Pig in the contest, he continually failed. Eventually, Pumbaa's friend, Timon, cheated to ensure Pumbaa's victory. At first, Pumbaa was proud of his supposed achievement, but when he learned of Timon's treachery, he returned the title and crown to the true Mr. Pig.

Biography

Early life

Mr. Pig is so high and mighty because for the last twenty-five years, he's won the Mr. Pig Contest.
Timon, as he reads the sign about Mr. Pig[src]

Mr. Pig lived on Captain Oinker's Pig Farm. For 25 years, he participated in and won the Mr. Pig Contest, which determined who the real "Mr. Pig" was. He kept a collection of trophies and ribbons in his home.[1]

Competition against Pumbaa

AB Pig

When Timon and Pumbaa entered Captain Oinker's Pig Farm, a procession paraded past them in honor of Mr. Pig, who was sitting astride a wagon at the tail-end of the group. Mr. Pig introduced himself, and Pumbaa politely echoed the introduction, calling himself "Mr. Pig" as well. At this, the pig sniffed rudely and proclaimed that Pumbaa was not a Mr. Pig, but rather a nobody.

Enraged, Timon hopped onto the wagon and asked Mr. Pig how he had earned himself the right to be called "Mr. Pig." In answer, the pig used his staff to smack Timon into the Mr. Pig sign, which explained that he had been the reigning champion of the Mr. Pig Contest for 25 years. No sooner had Timon absorbed this information when Rooster landed on a nearby fence and announced that the contest was about to begin.

AB Pumbaa & Pig2

For the first task, the contestants were asked to perform a high dive into a low mud pool, where it was to be determined who had made the bigger splash. After Pumbaa's performance, he was given an extremely low score, while the reigning champion got a perfect score. For the second task, the contestants were pitted against one another in a competition of oinks. Although Pumbaa did reasonably well in this round, Mr. Pig managed to break the measuring tool itself, which ensured him another victory. For the third task, the contestants were asked to make the smelliest gas possible, and even among his specialty talent, Pumbaa lost once more to the reigning champion.

Come nightfall, Pumbaa was disheartened by his constant losing to Mr. Pig. Though Timon tried to cheer him up, Pumbaa only stayed on the farm because he felt honor-bound to the competition.

The next morning, Rooster announced to the gathering that the final round had commenced. He showed the contestants a foot with numbers on its toes and named the round "This Little Piggy." For this challenge, the contestants must do what Rooster said; otherwise, they would lose. At the start of the first task, Timon tried to convince Pumbaa to cheat, but the warthog refused. Unwilling to give up, Timon decided to secretly cheat himself.

Toe #1: This little piggy went to market. The contestants raced down a footpath, where a sign directed one path to market and the other to China. As Mr. Pig reached the two paths, Timon turned the sign so that Mr. Pig went to China. When Pumbaa reached the paths, Timon switched the sign back so that the warthog went to market.

AB Pumbaa & Pig4

Toe #2: This little piggy stayed home. Pumbaa was forced to stay in a house, watching television all day, while Mr. Pig lounged in his mud, surrounded by his trophies. In secret, Timon set up a fake phone call, which told Mr. Pig that he had won a free trip to Pago Pago. Mr. Pig was overjoyed and eagerly fell for this trap.

Toe #3: This little piggy had roast beef. As Mr. Pig and Pumbaa gorged themselves on roast beef, Timon slipped a sausage into Mr. Pig's hoof, and the champion unintentionally ate the wrong food, which earned him another loss.

Toe #4: This little piggy had none. A bowl of food was placed in-between the contestants, who were disallowed to touch it. In order to get Mr. Pig to eat the food, Timon snapped a mousetrap on his tail and dumped the food into his mouth as he screamed in pain.

AB Pumbaa & Pig10

Toe #5: This little piggy cried "wee-wee-wee" all the way home. In another race, Mr. Pig and Pumbaa must cry "wee-wee-wee" all the way to the finish line. Mr. Pig was once again winning, so Timon stepped in his way and hit his foot with a mallet. This caused Mr. Pig to cry out in pain and gave Pumbaa the chance to streak ahead and take the title.

As Pumbaa stood proudly on a pedestal, declared the new Mr. Pig, Timon told his friend that he had cheated to help the warthog win. Infuriated, Pumbaa yelled at Timon for violating his trust, and the other barn animals surrounded the argument, taking in this new information with consternation. Unable to keep the crown, Pumbaa returned it to an angry Mr. Pig, and Rooster declared punishment on Timon, giving him the option to either leave forever or stay imprisoned on the farm for the rest of his life. Timon was eager to go, but Pumbaa refused to leave until the meerkat promised to never cheat again. Although Timon swiftly made the promise, he crossed his fingers behind his back.[1]

Physical appearance

Mr. Pig is an enormous, overweight pig. He has pink skin, with brown inner ears, hooves, and spots on his hide. His eyes are black.[1]

Personality and traits

Mr. Pig is selfish, rude, and self-absorbed. Since he has won the Mr. Pig contest for 25 years in a row, he claims himself to be the only "Mr. Pig" in the world and believes Pumbaa to be a "nobody." He is often stoic and serious.[1]
