Grub Grab is a computer game inspired by The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa. It was available to play on the now-defunct Toon Disney website.
Information
Gameplay
The object of the game is to have Timon or Pumbaa eat all the grubs through a maze while avoiding three Ed-esque hyenas chasing them. When all grubs are eaten, the player advances to the next level.
If Timon or Pumbaa makes contact with any of the three hyenas, they will lose a life and the game will be over if they lose all three lives. Placed at the four corners of a maze are large yellow grubs, and eating them will cause the hyenas to turn gold, which will send them back to their cave in the center of the maze if they make contact with Timon or Pumbaa. Eating a certain number of grubs will cause a bonus bug to appear underneath the hyenas' cave. These additional grubs serve as icons for each level and they can be eaten for bonus points.
As the game progresses, it increases into difficulty, as the hyenas become faster and the yellow grubs' effects on them decrease in duration, to the point where the hyenas no longer turn gold and edible. The sides of the maze consists of two "warp tunnels", which allow Timon/Pumbaa and the hyenas to go in the opposite side of the screen.
Trivia
- This game is in the style of the 1980 maze arcade game Pac-Man.
