―Fikiri[src]

Fikiri is a female mandrill. She is the mate of Kitendo, with whom she has a daughter, Makini.

When Makini was young, Fikiri and Kitendo took her on a journey to the Tree of Life, where they planned to present her to Rafiki to see if she would be the next Royal Mjuzi of the Pride Lands. After they arrived, Rafiki accepted Makini as his apprentice.

Later, Fikiri and her family attended Kion's coronation.

Biography

Early life

Fikiri lived in the Pride Lands. At some point in her life, she took Kitendo as her mate, and the two had a daughter named Makini.[1]

Journey to the Tree of Life

Rafiki is a Royal Mjuzi. And he believes that you may also grow up to be a Royal Mjuzi. But only the voices of the past at the Tree of Life will let him know for sure.

Memories401

Fikiri and Kitendo set out for the Tree of Life so as to present Makini to Rafiki. At the river, Fikiri warned Kitendo to always test the water temperature first. She then stated that in order to take a bath, one must not be afraid to get cold.

Later, Fikiri expressed that Rafiki should make paintings to mark the way to the Tree of Life. She explained to Makini that she might become a Royal Mjuzi someday under the tutelage of Rafiki because she had her father's curiosity and sense of fun. Both parents then told her that they would be with her until she was ready to be on her own.

Once in the desert, Fikiri and Kitendo taught their daughter to learn from her past in order to have a better future. They then presented her to Rafiki at the Tree of Life, and he accepted her as his apprentice.[1]

Makini's memories

I know that I was here with you, Mom. But my friends think we might be going the wrong way. I wish I can run back to the Pride Lands and ask you for help. What would you say? Maybe...as you move forward...
―Makini feigns a conversation with Fikiri[src]

While on a trip to the Tree of Life with the Lion Guard, Makini recounted taking a journey to the Tree of Life with her parents, Fikiri and Kitendo.[1]

Later, Janna reminded Makini of when they had met at the Tree of Life; at the time, Makini had been a baby and accompanied by her parents, Fikiri and Kitendo.[2]

Kion's coronation

Fikiri and Kitendo attended Kion and Rani's wedding. They hugged Makini after she officiated the ceremony.[3]

Physical appearance

Fikiri is a moderately sized, slender mandrill. She has a gray pelt, with a pale underbelly, pink paws, a tan ruff, and a mop of pink and tan hair on her head. Her eyes are blue.[1]

I meant when we look back at where we've been, we can learn. Even from our mistakes.
