Feifa

The Feifa (飛発 (フェイファ) , Feifa^?, lit. "Flying Explosion") is a projectile weapon that resembles a flintlock pistol, and requires both ammunition and fire powder to use. Early models required a fuse to ignite the fire powder in order to fire them, in contrast to the current model that has a built-in part that produces a spark.^[1] They are used in the military rather than in hunts, due to low accuracy.

Ayla, an envoy from Shaoh, made a secret deal with the Shi Clan to sell them more advanced feifas from the west.^{[citation needed]} During a hunt in Shihoku Province, multiple assassins attempted to kill the imperial brother with these feifas, but failed. Later, a dog was used to identity the assassins among the guests of the hunt from the smell of sulfur left by the fire powder.^[1]

The Shi clan also began manufacturing their own feifas,^[2] by buying large quantities of metal and sourcing fire powder ingredients from around their province. These would then be used defending against the Forbidden Army's attack on the fortress.
