The Eidlach Òr, also called the Golden Hind, were one of the four peoples of Alba. Originating in the south of Alba, they lived along the coast and fished the waters along the island's shores. Because of this, the Eidlach Òr had greater knowledge of the Master of the Straits than most Albans. Some among them spoke d'Angeline to communicate with Azzallese fishermen and they gave Thelesis de Mornayshelter during her exile from Terre d'Ange.
In contrast with the darker Cullach Gorrym, the Eidlach Òr were typically tall, with fair and ruddy complexions and most had red or blond hair and blue green or grey eyes. Like the other peoples of Alba, the Eidlach Òr were divided into smaller clans. Among these were the Trinovantii, Atribatii and Canticae, who were loyal and fought behind Drustan mab Necthana during the Battle of Bryn Gorrydum.
