Tzuyu (쯔위) is a Taiwanese singer under JYP Entertainment. She is the maknae, lead dancer, sub-vocalist, and visual of South Korean girl group TWICE.
Career
2015-2016
In 2015, Tzuyu competed in the JYP survival reality show SIXTEEN. After her and Momo were eliminated from the show, her along with Momo were added back to the final debut lineup for specified reasons.[1] On Jan 13, 2016 it Twice began to halt activities in China due to contreversy towards Tzuyu.
Tzuyu, along with Mina, Momo, and Sana on the internet held up flags representing the places they were born from. She held up the Taiwanese flag. It was picked up by Taiwanese singer Huang An who was opposed to Taiwanese independence from China, and described Tzuyu as a Taiwanese independence supporter.[2] On Jan 15, an official apology video of Tzuyu was released via YouTube, along with an apology statement from J. Y. Park[3]

Trivia
- Jeongyeon and Minyoung said they thought Tzuyu was so pretty they would watch her when she slept.[4]
- Some people thought she looked like EXID's Jeonghwa.[5]
