Yiyang

Yiyang (Korean: 이양; Chinese: 艺洋) is a Chinese singer under L.TAO Entertainment. She is a former member of the Chinese project girl group Legal High and Korean trainee group SMROOKIES.

She made her solo debut on July 16, 2020 with the digital single "Listen".

Career

2016–2018: SMROOKIES, change of agency

On September 19, 2016, Yiyang was revealed as the newest member of the trainee group SMROOKIES, alongside Ningning.[2]

In September 2018, Yiyang announced via her Weibo account that she had left SM Entertainment.[3] In October 2018, it was reported that she had signed with L.TAO Entertainment, a company founded by former EXO member Tao.[4]

2018–2020: Legal High, Produce Camp, solo debut

In October 2018, she became a contestant on the Chinese survival show The Next Top Bang. She was eliminated in episode 3, however, was brought back in episode 8. She ranked 7th in the finale, hence debuting as a member of the girl group Legal High.[5]

On March 11, 2020, Yiyang announced via her Weibo account that she will participate in the survival show Produce Camp 2020.[6] She was eliminated in episode 10 after ranking 8th place.[7]

On July 6, Yiyang opened a personal Instagram account and later announced that she will be making a solo debut.[8] Her debut digital single, "Listen", was released on July 16.[9]

Relationship

On July 14, 2024, Yiyang and Chinese singer and former EXO member Tao publicly announced their relationship.[10] The couple originally met in 2014 when both were under SM Entertainment,[11] and the first rumors of them dating started in 2020.[12]
