Taerin (태린) is a South Korean singer and dancer under Hi-Hat Entertainment. She is a member of the girl group ifeye and a former member of the kids girl group Pritti.
Career
2016: Pritti
In 2016, Jiwoo became a member of the kids girl group Pritti[1] but ultimately left the group the same year.
2019–2022: Auditioning
Jiwoo had been actively auditioning for companies since 2019. Since then, she had passed the first round auditions for companies such as Belift Lab,[2] Kakao M,[3] and LALA Media.[4] Although she passed the final round of auditions for KOZ Entertainment in 2020,[5] she was back to auditioning in July for Polaris Entertainment,[6] for SM Entertainment in January 2022,[7] and for Yue Hua Entertainment in February 2022.[8]
2024-present: Debut with ifeye
On November 20, 2024, Jiwoo was revealed as the sixth member of Hi-Hat Entertainment's upcoming girl group (now known as Ifeye).[9]
On February 27, 2025, it was revealed she would be promoting under the stage name Taerin in ifeye.[10]
The group made their debut with the digital EP Erlu Blue on April 8, 2025.[11]
Trivia
- She trained at GB Academy.[citation needed]
- Prior to being revealed as a member of Hi-Hat Entertainment's upcoming girl group, she was known as 'Trainee S# R' in the company's trainee videos.[9]
- She passed the final audition for Hi-Hat Entertainment in May 2022.[9]
- She dreamt of becoming an idol after going to a street dance academy.[12]
- She likes expressing herself on stage.[12]
