Sunny Hill (써니힐) is a three-member girl group under Kiya Music. Originally a co-ed trio, they debuted on September 20, 2007 with their first single album "Love Letter".
History
2007–2010: Debut as co-ed trio
Sunny Hill originally debuted as a three-member co-ed group on September 20, 2007 under For Everyone Media with their first single album "Love Letter".
2010–2018: Label and line-up changes
Sometime in 2010, Sunny Hill moved label to Nega Network. Following the label change, a new member, Kota, was introduced to the group. The quintet was featured in labelmate Narsha's "Mamma Mia" as their first project under the new label. Another new member, Misung, was added to the group shortly before they had another label change to LOEN Entertainment.[citation needed]
On June 3, 2011, the new line-up of Sunny Hill released their first mini album Midnight Circus. The release was marked as the official debut of new members Kota and Misung.
On January 31, 2012, Janghyun temporarily halted activities to serve his mandatory military service in the midst of the promotion of "The Grasshoppers".[1]
On January 20, 2014, Janghyun announced his departure from the group on January 31, 2014 after the release of his final single with the group "Don't Say Anything" to focus on his career as a producer.[2] This was marked as the group's new start as a girl group.
On August 18, 2017, LOEN announced the group had left the agency after their contracts expired on the 8th.[3] On November 6, 2018, Jubi signed with Dmost Entertainment as an actress and subsequently left the group.[4] On December 18, Misung left the group but would still contribute to the group as a lyricist, like former member Janghyun.[citation needed]
2019–2023: BOD Entertainment
On April 25, 2019, it was announced that Sunny Hill has signed with BOD Entertainment and would resume activities with two new members, Eunju and Geonhee.[5] The new line-up made their comeback on October 25, 2019 with the mini album NomNomNom.
Sunny Hill temporarily continued as a duo with members Bitna and Kota from late 2020 to late 2022, as Eunju and Geonhee were absent from the group's activities. The duo also made occasional TV show appearances with former members Jubi and Misung. On October 29, 2022, the group made a public appearance at Incheon Subongsan Festival 2022 with all four members, including Eunju and Geonhee, after two years of hiatus.[6]
On July 8, 2023, the group began appearing at activities without Kota.[7]
2024: "You Walk, I'll Run"
On May 22, 2024, the group released the digital single "You Walk, I'll Run", their first release without Kota.[8]
