Nau Lee

Nau Lee (나우이; or Lee Nau) is a South Korean musician and composer. He is a former member of the band Purple Rain.

Career

Pre-debut

Nau Lee grew up in Germany and studied piano, with a focus on 18th and 19th century classical western music.[1]

2019–2020: SuperBand and Purple Rain

Nau Lee participated on JTBC's audition show SuperBand and won third place with his band Purple Rain.

The band debuted on February 28, 2020 with their first digital single "The King Must Die". On October 19, 2020, JTBC Studio announced the band's disbandment after concluding activities on the 14th while Nau Lee signed an exclusive contract with the agency.[2]

2021: Solo debut

He made his solo debut on February 8, 2021 with his first single, "Bloom Again".

2024: Departure from JTBC Studios

On January 9, 2024, it was announced that Nau Lee left JTBC Studios at the end of 2023.[3]

Personal life

Education

Nau Lee studied at the Korea National University of Arts and the University of Music and Performing Arts of Munich.

Military service

On November 17, 2021, he announced on his personal Instagram that he will enlist on November 18.[4] He was discharged on August 17, 2023.[5]
