Kimi (키미), also known by her name Kim Minji (김민지) and formerly as Habin (하빈), is a South Korean rapper. She is a former member of the girl groups We Girls, BULLDOK, Scarlet, Leader'S and its sub-units Leader'S G, Leader'S N and Leader'S T, the duo PAPILLON, and a former pre-debut member of onair.
She made her solo debut in August 25, 2017 with the digital single "I Am".
She is also known for being a contestant on the survival show Produce 101.
Career
2011–2012: Leader'S and its sub-units
In October 2011, TGN Entertainment announced that Leader'S would be reorganized into a twenty-four-member girl group with three sub units and introduced Habin as one of the new members. She was originally a part of the Leader'S G unit, but due to frequent departures from the group, she was later transferred to Leader'S N and finally Leader'S T.[1]
It is presumed that she left the group sometime in 2012, at the beginning of the group's first hiatus.
2014: Scarlet
On March 13, 2014, Kimi was announced as a new member of Scarlet.[2]
On July 3, she officially debut as a member of the group with their digital single "Hip Song".
Since August, Kimi stopped appearing at the group's schedule.[3] In October, Scarlet deleted all mention of Kimi from their SNS so it was assumed that she had left the group.
2016: Produce 101
In 2016, she became a contestant on Mnet's survival show Produce 101. She was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 44th place.
2016-2018: BULLDOK, solo debut
On October 20, 2016, she made her debut as a member of BULLDOK with the digital single "Why Not".
On August 25, 2017, she made her solo debut with the digital single "I Am".
BULLDOK are presumed to have disbanded sometime in 2018.
2019: PAPILLON
On May 29, 2019, she made her debut as half of the duo PAPILLON with the digital single "사랑에 빠진 날". The duo is presumed to have disbanded sometime the same year.
2021–2022: We Girls
On April 9, 2021, Kimi was confirmed as a new member of We Girls through an article published by Sports Donga.[4]
In February 2022, We Girls member YeHana revealed via her Instagram DM that We Girls has disbanded.[5]
2022–2024: onair
On May 31, 2022, it was reported that Kimi was preparing an album in a new group in September.[6]
On November 10, she posted photos on Instagram featuring her new group with hashtags such as "#ONAIR" and "#commingsoon".[7] On November 16, it was revealed that Kimi, along with Sohyeon, Jihye, and Namkyung, would be debuting as members of the girl group onair.[8][9][10]
Sometime in January 2024, Kimi was removed from SW Entertainment's website indicating her departure from the group.[11]
