Billion (빌리언) was a five-member girl group under Move Entertainment. Originally as six, they debuted on March 27, 2014 with the single album "Remove Before Flight".
The group disbanded on June 20, 2017.
History
2014-2015: Debut with "Remove Before Flight", Kiryun's departure
On March 27, 2014, Billion made their debut with the single album "Remove Before Flight". This was followed by the release of the music video for "Dancing Alone" on March 24 and "Salang Salang" on August 19, 2014.
On February 4, 2015, Move Entertainment announced on their fancafe that Kiryun had left the group due to health issues.[1]
2016: First comeback with "I Have You"
On March 7, the group made their first comeback as a five-member group with the single album "I Have You".
2017: Disbandment, "Power People Song"
On March 16, it was announced that Billion would release a new song titled "Power People Song" in early April along with a dance performance video.[2] The release was later delayed due to unknown reason.
On June 20, Move Entertainment announced that Billion would disband after their performance on the same day.[3]
On June 23, they finally released the digital single "Power People Song", in collaboration with the children's book publishing company Yelimdang for their new book.[4] This is their last release as a group.
Aftermath
- Ray joined 4X in 2017, under the stage name Bora and stayed until their disbandment in 2020. She got married on May 14, 2019 and gave birth to her son on November 3, 2021.[5][6]
- Songyi debuted as a soloist with her first EP The Night on April 24, 2018. She started working as a teacher at Baekseok Arts University in 2023.[7]
- Betty left the entertainment industry entirely after the group disbandment. She got married on June 24, 2023 and gave birth to her son the same year.[8][9]
- Janet became active as a model.
- Seulgi continued to work as a Wyverns Girl for the 2017 season after the group disbandment.[3] She appears to have left the entertainment industry after this.
