Baekho (백호) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and producer under Team Baekho, in partnership with PrismFilter Music Group, RND Company and RIZZCOMM. He is a former member of the boy group NU'EST.
He made his solo debut on October 12, 2022 with the mini album Absolute Zero.
Career
Pre-debut
Prior to his debut, Baekho made appearances in labelmates' music releases as a member of Pledis Boys. He was a backup dancer for After School Blue's "Wonder Boy", and featured in Pledis Entertainment's Christmas release "Love Letter".[1]
2012: NU'EST's debut
Baekho debuted as a member of NU'EST on March 15, 2012 with their first single "Face".
2017–2018: Produce 101 Season 2, NU'EST W
In 2017, him, and fellow members Minhyun, JR, and Ren participated in Mnet's survival reality show Produce 101 Season 2, which he finished in 13th place.
Minhyun was the only member that made to the final 11 to promote with the project group Wanna One, while the other members formed the four-member subgroup NU'EST W (the W in the name means the group is waiting for him to return), as they released three mini albums between 2017 and 2018.
2021: Musical debut
On May 22, 2021, Baekho made his musical debut starring as Haram in Midinight Sun.[2]
2022: NU'EST's disbandment, solo debut with Absolute Zero
On February 28, 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that the NU'EST members' contracts would expire on March 14 and Baekho decided to renew with the company.[3]
On August 29, media outlets reported that Baekho will be releasing his first solo album sometime in October.[4] On September 21, it was announced that Baekho will be making his solo debut with his first mini album, Absolute Zero, on October 12.[5]
2023: Asia tour, "Elevator", "What Are We", "Abracadabra"
From January to May 2023, Baekho embarked on a mini-Asia tour "BAEKHoney Day", holding concerts in Taipei, Bangkok and Seoul.[6] A Macau stop was also announced but later postponed due to force majeure.[7]
On August 21, Baekho teased his first digital single, "Elevator", a remake of the 1995 song of the same name by Park Jin Young, set to be released on August 31.[8]
On September 28, Baekho released his second digital single, "Abracadabra", an R&B remake of the 2009 song of the same name by Brown Eyed Girls.[9]
On November 27, Baekho teased his third digital single, "What Are We", featuring Park Jiwon of fromis_9, set to be released on December 7.[10]
2024: Marie Antoinette musical, "Love Or Die", Waterbomb, "Nutty Nutty"
In January 2024, made his judging panel debut on Mnet's vocal survival program Build Up : Vocal Boy Group Survivor.[11]
Baekho returned to the theatre stage to play Count Axel von Fersen in the 10th anniversary production of the musical Marie Antoinette, which ran from late February until May 2024.[12]
On April 15, it was announced that Baekho and BIGONE will release the collaboration single album "Love Or Die" on May 8.[13]
Baekho was announced to perform on five dates at Korea's representative summer music festival Waterbomb across Korea and Japan, including the main stop in Seoul on July 5. Following nationwide anticipation of his appearance, Baekho was chosen to sing the official theme song for the festival, "Wet & Wild", which was released on June 1.[14]
On August 31, Baekho teased his fifth digital single, "Nutty Nutty", featuring Jessi, set to be released on September 4.[15]
2025: Departure from Pledis Entertainment, "Off-Road", Formation of Team Baekho
On March 6, Pledis Entertainment released a statement announcing that Baekho would be leaving the agency on March 14 after deciding not to renew his contract. He is set to release one final digital single under the agency on March 14, the last day of his contract with the agency.[16]
On March 12, it was announced that Baekho will release the sixth digital single "Off-Road" on March 14.[17]
On April 7, it was announced that Baekho has formed "Team Baekho", in partnership with PrismFilter Music Group, RND Company and RIZZCOMM, to continue his solo activities.[18]
