82MAJOR

82MAJOR (에이티투메이저) is a six-member boy group under Great M Entertainment. They made their debut on October 11, 2023 with the single album "On".

History

Pre-debut

On April 13, 2022, Great M Entertainment opened up SNS accounts for their group of trainees Rare House.[2]

In October 2022, they started following Hwang Seong Bin, hinting at his addition to the group. Later, he appeared as a contestant of the Mnet reality show Show Me The Money 11 under his full name Hwang Seongbin, where he passed the first round. Unfortunately, he failed the second round and was unable to move on.

On October 17, they released a TikTok asking to one of the trainees which profile picture he should use for his Instagram account, thus revealing his name to be Nam Seong Mo.[3]

On November 26, they revealed a new trainee named, Lee Dong Gun, through an Instagram post, alongside Seong Mo.[4]

On December 2, they revealed a new trainee named Park Seok Joon through an Instagram post.[5]

On December 27, they introduced a new trainee, Kim Do Gyun, through an Instagram post.[6]

On December 29, Dong Gun was revealed as a contestant of the Mnet reality show Boys Planet under his full name Lee Dong Gun.[7]

On January 18, 2023, they revealed a new trainee named Cho Seong Il through an Instagram reel.[8]

On February 20, a new trainee, Cho Yeon Woo was revealed as a contestant of the MBC reality show Fantasy Boys under his full name Cho Yeon Woo.[9]

On March 30, they uploaded the first episode of their reality show 5 BROS. The absence of Dong Gun and Yeon Woo were notable, hinting their departures from the group.[10]

On August 2, Great M Entertainment announced Rare House's official debut name 82MAJOR.[11]

On September 21, they revealed a new member, Yoon Ye Chan.[12]

2023: Debut with "On"

On September 22, 2023, they announced the schedule for their upcoming debut set on October 11 with the single album "On", along with the release of a pre-release single "Sure Thing", set to be released on October 5.[13]

2024: Beat by 82, "Choke (Sped Up)", X-82

On April 4, 2024, it was announced that the group will comeback on April 29 with a new album.[14] Later that day, the scheduler for their first mini album Beat by 82 was unveiled.[15]

The group released their second digital single, "Choke (Sped Up)", on May 6.

On September 13, they released a teaser for their second mini album X-82, set for release on October 15.[16]

2025: Silence Syndrome

On March 19, 2025, it was revealed 82MAJOR has an upcoming release scheduled for April 14 through their SNS.[17] The next day, it was announced the group will be making a comeback with their third mini album titled Silence Syndrome.[18]
