Tang Zi (onyomi: Tō Shi) was one of the Wu officers who assisted Zhuge Dan during Zhuge Dan's Rebellion who was captured after its failure. Sima Zhao spared his life and Tang Zi decided to serve Wei.
Role in Games
In Dynasty Warriors 7, Tang Zi serves as an enemy officer during the Jin Scenario. He participates in Guanqiu Jian and Wen Qin's Rebellion stage, arriving as part of Wu's second wave of reinforcements. Zi also engages Zhuge Dan's forces at Dongxing, forcing Wang Yuanji to rescue him from the Wu ambush forces. During Zhuge Dan's Rebellion, Tang follows Zhu Yi orders to ambush Wei forces at the cliff. Zhu Yi himself appears with fire archers while Tang Zi appears at the bottom of the cliff.

Historical Information
Tang Zi began his carrier under Wei. However, Tang joined Cai Fang in rebellion at Licheng, Tang Zi's hometown. His ability to lead was recognized and he found himself appointed as the rebellion's leader. When Emperor Wen of Wei learned of this, he sent an army to crush the rebellion. Tang Zi was swiftly defeated, but was able to escape to the south and offered his services to Sun Quan.
From 234-239 Tang Zi helped defeat the Shanyue rebels in Luling, Guiji and Nanhai. Tang Zi was appointed as vice-commander to Lu Dai and they were able to repress the rebellions. In 236, Zi helped Wu Can and his 3,000 men defeat the Shanyue hold out, Dong Si. Tang Zi and Lu Dai defeated another Shanyue rebellion led by Liao Shi in 239. this rebellion had seized Guiyang, Lingling, Cangwu, and Yulin, but could not stand before their combined forces.
In 252, he involved in battle at Dongxing, where he earned his rank of General of the Vangaurd. Four years later, Yang Zi participated in another conflict with Wei. He also picked Sun Chen's side of the internal political struggles in Wu, helping Sun Chen secure power of the Wu throne. When Zhuge Dan rebelled, Tang Zi and Wen Qin led the army to assist Zhuge Dan. However, Wen Qin and Zhuge Dan were killed and Tang Zi was captured. Sima Zhao order the troop don't harm Tang Zi's family and convinced him to join his side. Tang Zi accepted Sima Zhao's invitation.
During the winter in 262, when Sima Zhao sent the army to conquest Shu, Tang Zi was appointed to construct the necessary river warships to prepare an invasion of Wu once Shu fell.
