Fictional character. |
Qin Qi (onyomi: Shin Ki) is a fictional officer in Romance of the Three Kingdoms who is Cai Yong's nephew and Cai Yan's cousin. He served under Xiahou Dun and protected the fifth and last gate in Guan Yu's one thousand league journey.
Role in Games
The earlier titles of the Dynasty Warriors series limit his appearances to Guan Yu's escape from Xuchang. He is always seen guarding the last gate in the stage's iterations. He returns in Dynasty Warriors 8 as an enemy officer in Ambition Mode and in Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends as an enemy at Dingtao in Lu Bu's story.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Qin Qi makes his short appearance in chapter 27. Guan Yu had been denied boats to carry himself and Liu Bei's wives across a river, so the bearded general was forced to use the river ferry. The ferry was guarded by Qin Qi, and like the generals before him, he questioned Guan Yu's destination and demanded to see proper documentation for leaving the territory. Qin Qi followed his orders when Guan Yu and company could not produce the papers and refused their passage.
The angry Guan Yu questioned whether the gate guard knew of those who he had slain until that point and intimidated Qin Qi with his victories against Yan Liang and Wen Chou. Qin Qi was upset by the show of resistance and immediately charged towards his opponent. Within the first strike, he was beheaded.
