“ | There are other tricks to learn, too. For example, Kirby’s Air Shots are more powerful when targets are closer, and if you push down on the controls while hovering you can use Quick Fall.” |

Quick Fall is an action that allows Kirby to fall at an increased speed. Debuting in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, now whenever Kirby begins a Dive Attack after falling a certain distance, he will also automatically Quick Fall.
General Information
While Kirby is in Quick Fall he can pass through thin platforms in most games. This state can be activated manually by pressing downwards twice on the Control Stick. When Kirby hits the floor in this state, he will bounce upwards, but by continuing pressing downwards on the Control Stick, he will land on his feet allowing him to act much quicker upon landing.
When Kirby enters Quick Fall, he cannot slow down his speed back to normal, however, he can hover or dodge to change his velocity. Some attacks can be carried along with the momentum of a Quick Fall, whereas others might break Kirby out of Quick Fall.
When Kirby enters Quick Fall with the Parasol ability, the player can press up on the Control Stick to have Kirby open his parasol; when the Control Stick is pressed downwards while the parasol is opened, Kirby will resume Quick Fall mode. When Wing Kirby or Meta Knight has their wings out in midair, they cannot perform a Quick Fall, nor will they assume a Dive Attack.
In the Super Smash Bros. series
A technique similar to Quick Falling exists in every Super Smash Bros. entry called fast falling. By pressing down on the controller, the player’s character falls at a significant speed, however the character will stop when they land on a platform. This technique allows for attacks to carry with the character's speed which may be beneficial during battle. Each character has their own falling speed with King Dedede having the highest fast falling speed in the entire roster of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and ranking second highest of the entire roster in every installation thereafter.
Characters with wings such as Meta Knight will typically flap their wings for an extra jump, remaining out even after all extra jumps have been used. If these characters were to fast fall, then they will retract their wings leaving to a unique pose.
