Mina

Mina (Korean: 미나; Japanese: ミナ) is a Japanese singer and dancer under JYP Entertainment. She is a member of TWICE, and debuted with them in their first mini album The Story Begins.

Career

2015-2016: Debut with TWICE

In 2015, Mina competed on JYP's survival show, SIXTEEN. In the final episode, she ranked in the top 7, and debuted with girl group TWICE on October 20, 2015. On January 25, 2016 Mina was also reported to be a panelist along with Nayeon in an upcoming variety show called "God's Voice".[1][2]

2018-2020; Anxiety Issues, Hiatus

On August 27, 2019, JYP Entertainment released an official statement announcing that Mina had been suffering from Anxiety, and would be taking a break from promotional activities.[3][4] In result she would sit out at TWICE's Feel Special promotions[5][6], but would participate in the production for the album.[7][8][9] Later on October 20, JYP said that her future for promotions is not decided and that they would prioritize her health throughout everything.[10][11] The next year on February 11, 2020 JYP then announced that Mina's health had stabilized, and she would continue with promtions.[12][13]
