Guthry is a male giant character who first appeared in JumpStart Math for Kindergartners.
Appearance
Guthry has orange shaggy hair, peach-colored skin, and gray irises. He wears a yellow long-sleeve shirt, red pants held up with white suspenders with yellow buttons, and brown boots. His appearance changes slightly in later JumpStart workbooks, giving him paler skin, brown hair, and blue overalls.
Personality
Guthry is friendly, and he works hard to get all of the birthday supplies from CloudTown to Earth.
In the Game
When Hopsalot's schoolhouse ends up in CloudTown, Guthry mistakes it for a present for his birthday. Upon finding out that it isn't really a birthday present, he becomes gloomy because he thinks everyone forgot his birthday. In reality, the residents of CloudTown are planning a surprise party for Guthry, which Hopsalot starts helping out with. At the end of the game, Guthry discovers his surprise party and is cheered up by it.
Guthry also has a song attributed to him, The Giant's Birthdays, which tells about his first ten birthdays.

Guthry appears in certain Scholastic workbooks compiled in the JumpStart Kindergarten Jumbo Workbook.
