The Bakery is an activity and location in JumpStart Pre-K. The activity is designed to teach pre-reading skills at a prekindergarten level.
Description
Location
The Bakery is one of the buildings in the Pre-K Town. Clicking on it from the main town screen takes the player to a closeup of the building with several interactive spots, and causes the Bakery Song to play. Clicking on the building will then take the player to the activity.

Activity
The player decorates cakes with Kisha by connecting dots in the correct order. There are various dots of frosting on the cake with letters beside them. The recipe card indicates which letter should be clicked on next. As the player follows the recipe card's instructions and clicks on more dots in the correct order, an illustration made of frosting will start to form on the cake. The activity is complete when all of the dots have been clicked in the correct order and the picture is finished.
Digital manual description

Help Kisha decorate the cake.
Object: Click on each letter in the correct order to connect the dots on top of the cake and reveal the picture.
- Look at the letter or word clue (if any) shown on the recipe card at the right side of the screen. Listen to the name of the letter or the sound of the first letter in the word Kisha pronounces. Click on the dot beside that letter on top of the cake.
- Continue looking at and listening to the clues and clicking on each dot in order until the pattern is complete.
Levels: At level one, match the uppercase or lowercase letter on the recipe card to the correct letter on the cake. At level two, match the first letter of the word shown on the recipe card to the correct letter on the cake. At level three, listen carefully to the sound of the word to hear the letter with which it starts.
Rewards: When you've connected all the dots, you'll see the hidden picture and watch the cake being eaten. If you do a good job, you'll earn a star! When you have all four stars, you'll earn a visit to the Park for a special reward.
Educational benefits: This activity focuses on pre-reading skills by exercising your child's ability to recognize matching symbols, complete sequences and discriminate letter sounds. It exposes your child to the sights and sounds of letters, short words and simple phonics.
