LADYBABY

LADYBABY (レディベイビー) is a Japanese Death Pop idol group formed in 2015.

They changed their group name to The Idol formerly known as LADYBABY (ジ・アイドル・フォーマリー・ノウン・アズ・レディベイビー) once Ladybeard left the group in 2016, and after Kuromiya Rei left in 2017, the group returned to their original name.

On October 29, 2019, it was announced they would cease all activities after the release of their album REBURN, along with a one-man performance @Ebisu LIQUIDROOM on January 13, 2020. The group also conducted a final tour, "SEE YOU Reburn TOUR" from November 27, 2019, @Nagoya RAD HALL, until January 13, 2020, @Ebisu LIQUIDROOM.

On January 2, 2023, LADYBABY NEW PROJECT was announced.[2] It was revealed that the group would be revived, in a joint project with HEROINES, under imaginate. Along with this announcement, they held an audition for new members for the project.[3] A new round of auditions was announced on April 8, 2023.[4]

On November 20, 2023, they announced that they will make their re-debut stage on December 1, 2023 @CLUB CITTA', along with the revealing of their first member of the fourth generation[1], with more following. In the official site announcement, they see the 3rd generation (Kaneko, Ikeda, Karasawa, and Arima) as members on hiatus, and to continue supporting their individual activities.[1]

Dear fans and people concerned.

The new LADYBABY line-up is finally ready to begin.

We have been waiting a long time since we announced the audition in January this year, but we have gathered members who we can confidently entrust LADYBABY to.

Therefore, although we were considering performing under a different name at first, we will start our activities as "LADYBABY" for the fourth term.

We are very much looking forward to bringing the roaring sound of LADYBABY to you again with these new members. We hope you will give us a warm welcome.

We respect the wishes of Kaneko Rie, Ikeda Nana, Karasawa Fuka and Arima Emily, who are currently on hiatus as LADYBABY, and will remain with LADYBABY as third-term members, so we hope you will continue to support their current individual activities.

We hope you will continue to support their current individual activities. While we will continue with LADYBABY's music and world view, the members and staff will work hard with the feeling of starting from scratch again.

On November 29, 2023, the group announced their two mascots: FOO (ふぅ), and RAI (らい), as well as a new song and MV Gotcha Nippon! (Gotcha にっぽん！; Gotcha Japan!).[5][6]
