Escaping is the act of escaping the Prison in Jailbreak. It is a crucial part of gameplay in Jailbreak for Prisoners, as it allows them to become Criminals, rob stores and start heists.

Overview

There are several ways to escape the Prison in Jailbreak and become a Criminal.

Escape Methods

Escape Method Description
Wall Escape
 Go to Rusty and bring him a donut. There is a chance to get one piece of C4 from him. Use the C4 on the weak wall in the Prison yard, behind the spectators' seats. There is also a glitch where you can also place 2 C4 on the ground to launch yourself over the wall, but this is much less reliable.
Sewers
 Open one of the sewer hatches at the Prison Yard or outside the Police Station. Once in the sewers, follow the tunnel system to a ladder to exit the sewers and escape. Be warned that at the final section, the sewage water underneath the walkways is a death zone. Visit the page for more information and images.
Ramp
 After escaping into the Prison parking lot, there is a ramp. Use any vehicle, other than the Patrol, Dirt Bike, and Dune Buggy to use rocket fuel and ramp out of the parking lot for a quick and efficient escape.
Punch Box
 A power box can be found on the Prison Gun Shop wall. Punching the box ten times opens the gate on its right, which leads to a parkour escape out of the Prison into the parking lot.
Visitors Building Vent
 When the Visitors Building door opens, which occurs between 6:30am - 11:00am and 3:00 PM and 11:15PM, players can enter the vent system which leads them inside the Prison Police Station. From there, players can acquire weapons, kill Police until one drops a Keycard, take the Keycard, and use it to escape the Prison.
Pickpocketing
 Walk up behind a police officer lurking around the Prison and hold E to pickpocket. There is a chance of grabbing a Keycard from them, which grants access to key-locked doors.
Player Assistance
 Players can get another player with a Keycard to open doors, or have them bring a vehicle, to help them escape.
Flying Vehicle
 Players can join the Police team, drive a flying vehicle into the Prison Yard, lock it, then switch to the Prisoner team and use it to escape. Players can also unlock the vehicle once inside the driver's seat as a prisoner to let other prisoners onto the vehicle and help them escape as well.

Escape Method Description
Power Box
 A somewhat lengthy escape and will attract attention, but an easy one. This method starts at the Power Box mounted on the side of the Police Station wall. Players will have to punch the box exactly 10 times for the gate near the box to temporarily open up. From there, they must lift the gate on the other side of the Lunch area, crawl under it, and escape through the Prison Parking Lot. Players can also find a friend or an alt and jump on the Power Box. However, jumping on the Power Box was patched in an unknown update by removing collision on the Power Box.
Keycard
 Getting a Keycard may be difficult to obtain, but with a friend, an alt, an AFK Police officer, or bribing, it can be quite easy. Pickpocketing a random officer is also an option, but be careful; the Police officer may chase after you to arrest you. Once you have a Keycard, you gain access to all rooms in the Prison, such as Prison Police Station, the Security Office, the Watchtowers, and every other door which only Police can go through. Additionally, you can access the Storage Room in the Cafeteria, or escape through the vent near the Security Office.
Player Assistance
 If a player has access to an aerial vehicle, they can fly into the Prison grounds. Therefore, you can enter as a passenger, or pilot the helicopter outside of the Prison yourself, resulting in an escape. Also, if you're a Criminal, you can steal the Helicopter without a Keycard at the Rising City Police Station, making it much easier to escape if a friend is in your server, or if you need a helicopter but don't own the Little Bird or Black Hawk.
Sewers
 The main entrance is right beside the Prison Police Station and the Prison Garage, and can also be used as an exit. There are 2 exits, accessible via black ladders. You can also enter the sewers via 2 of the exits. The first ladder is an entrance to the Prison Parking Lot right in front of the gate control room. The final exit is found by continuing past the first exit and going straight the entire way. Once you reach the end, the ladder is on the right. This exit leads you to the tunnel across from the Camaro.
Ramp
 After escaping into the Prison parking lot, there is a ramp. Use any vehicle, other than the Patrol, Dirt Bike, and Dune Buggy to use rocket fuel and ramp out of the parking lot for a quick and efficient escape.
Explode Wall
 The most simple method. To escape using this, players must go to the wall marked with an X to the right of the Prison Garage and hold the E prompt until the wall explodes. They can then walk through the rubble and escape Prison. This does have a downside, being that cars do not spawn in this area, so players must either run to the Camaro in front of the Prison, or get far away from the Prison enough to spawn a car. This escape is recommended because Police officers rarely camp this area, allowing you to sneak away from under their noses. However, do check the Minimap for Police officers following you or camping behind the wall before you attempt this escape route, because you can never be too sure.
Placing a vehicle inside the Prison and changing teams
 A very reliable way to escape, especially if you plan from switching from the Police team to the Prisoner team. Players would have to place a vehicle inside or directly outside the Prison when on the Police team, switch teams, and use that to escape. Vehicles that could do this most effectively are the Blackhawk, Helicopter, Little Bird, Firetruck, Monster Truck and the Volt. The land vehicles are either used to allow you to climb onto buildings or to utilize the trampoline to propel you out of the Prison. Always lock your vehicle, and if possible, put them in less popular areas of the Prison, or you risk having the vehicle stolen/towed away by helicopters.
Trampoline
 A simple, but slow and unreliable way of escaping the Prison. To do this, jump up on the trampoline and crouch, and then spam crouch once in the air to ragdoll yourself even further. If you are going off-course from the Trampoline, stand up again and direct yourself back onto the Trampoline. If done correctly, you will be flung out of the Prison grounds. In the best-case scenario, the players can escape quickly and land outside the Prison, on top of a building, or the Prison Parking Lot. In the worst-case scenario, players may fail to fly out and land somewhere in the Prison while far away, get flung out of the map, or get stuck in a place where a Keycard is required to get out. However, this method of escaping has removed at 5 Year Anniversary Live Update.
Vents
 A sneaky way to escape the Prison, but requires a Keycard. Players need to obtain a Keycard and go to the vent entrance near the Security Office and near the stairs going from the lower floor to the upper floor. Climb to the top, where a corridor will be. Find the exit passageway and jump out. Once out, you can jump onto the tops of other buildings nearby to escape. This is one of the most rarest escapes used due to it being quite hidden.

Trivia

Current

  • The current wall escape is the first escape where you need a item.
  • The parkour section in the new sewer escape is rather similar to the pit in the Power Plant as well as the warehouse in the Crime Port.
  • The new electric box shocking players and dealing damage was a feature suggested on Twitter. It also cannot be jumped over like the old one before a patch.

Outdated

  • The Original wall escape was changed to blowing up a fence into the parking lot in the 1 Year Update.
    • However, it was changed back in the Sewer Escape Update due to complaints about camping Police officers in the parking lot. Also, Police officers complained that it was too easy for Prisoners to escape.
  • Before Jailbreak's official release, the fence would already be lifted. This was later changed so you have to manually lift it by pressing and holding "E" (press and hold on mobile, press and hold "Y" on console), presumably to make it harder to escape using this method.
  • After the Town Revamp Update, the collisions on the umbrellas were removed, making it less easy to escape when using the Power Box.
