The Silver Sword is an important weapon in Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished ~ Omen and Ys Origin. A sword made from Silver, it still carries demon-slaying powers. As such, it is capable of hurting Dark Fact.
In-Game
In Ys I, the Silver Sword was the second-best sword in the game, obtained from the southern Roda Tree after eating a Roda Seed (in the remake, there's an additional requirement involving returning the Silver Harmonica to Reah). It grants Adol +40 to his STR stat when he equips it. However, equipping it and the accompanying armor and shield is the only way to hurt Dark Fact.
In Ys Origin, Toal originally had a silver sword as a member of the Holy Knights of Ys. It ended up damaged while fighting against the Darklings and he exchanged it for a pair of Claws upon joining them. Reah and Feena find the sword upon their descent from Ys, only returning it to Toal during the final battle against Darm. Afterwards, Toal plants the sword at the base of the Roda Tree, where it will be found by Adol 700 years later.
