Leo

Leo (レオ?) is the commander in charge of the Romun troops stationed in Celceta. He dislikes those who stand out more than him and always appears with the two soldiers under his command, Sancho and Panza. He is an antagonist in Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys and a rival to Adol's party in Ys: Memories of Celceta.

Profile

Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys

A traditional ambitious villain, Leo goes as far as stealing Adol's equipment and locking him up and has no regard for others' lives. He ultimately gets killed by accidentally setting off one of the traps in the dungeon.

Ys: Memories of Celceta

Once held in high esteem as Roaring Leo, General Leo got demoted and sent to Celceta. While he is passionate about his job to bring order to Celceta, he mostly ends up making complete fools out of himself and soldiers under his command wherever he goes. This has made him a laughing stock across Casnan village. Nonetheless, he never gives up and seeks to do whatever he can to help the people of Celceta.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

During the Erdlingen War, a war between Gllia and the Romun Empire, a massive battle erupted on the outskirts of Balduq. The 4th Battalion, commanded by General Bourdon of the Gllian royal family, suffered defeat. The general retreated from the battlefield into the safety of Balduq's walls. The Romun army, with a victory in sight, pursued him without mercy. In mere moments, Balduq was besieged by the Roaring Leo.

Trivia

  • His demotion to Celceta is caused by his taking the blame for one of his subordinates' grievous mistakes. This can be discovered by talking to the Romun soldier in front of the governor-general building at one point in the game.
  • This character didn't exist in Falcom's original Ys IV design document, so Leo was a non-canon character before his inclusion in Ys: Memories of Celceta.
