
There are 11 games in the main Ys series, with several older entries being replaced in the canon timeline with newer up to date versions. Additionally, there are also a number of re-imaginings and spin-offs.
Main series
- Ys Origin - Prequel of Ys I & II featuring the combat system introduced in Ys VI. Takes place in Darm Tower 700 years before the first game.
- Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen - First game in the series. Uses the bump system and takes place on the island of Esteria.
- Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter - Direct sequel to Ys I also featuring the bump system. Takes place immediately after the ending of Ys I on the floating island of Ys.
- Ys: The Oath in Felghana - Remake of Ys III, uses the combat system introduced in Ys VI. Takes place in the land of Felghana.
- Ys: Memories of Celceta - Falcom's version of Ys IV. Takes place in the land of Celceta.
- Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand - The only main entry that hasn't been released outside of Japan nor remade to fit the new timeline, thus only making it partially canon. This installment does not include the bump system and instead uses a slower, more traditional gameplay style. Takes place in the land of Xandria.
- Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim - Introduced a new revamped combat system and timeline. Takes place on the islands of Canaan.
- Ys SEVEN - Introduced the party system that would be used for the next 3 entries. Takes place in the land of Altago.
- Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana - First game to be fully 3D as well as featuring a longer more complex story and characters. Takes place on the Island of Seiren.
- Ys IX: Monstrum Nox - Features an open city to explore and superhero-like powers. Takes place in the city of Balduq and its outskirts.
- Ys X: Nordics - Removes the party system in favor of a new dual character combat system called "Cross Action". Takes place in Obelia Gulf.
Formerly canon
- Ys III: Wanderers from Ys - Third entry in the old timeline, fast-paced sidescroller.
- Ys IV: Mask of the Sun - Tonkin House's version of Ys IV for the Super Nintendo. Uses bump combat.
- Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys - Hudson Soft's version of Ys IV for the TurboGrafx-CD. Features bump combat, voice acting and a Red Book Audio soundtrack.
Non-canon
- Ys II Special - Korean-only re-imagining of Ys II for DOS. Features the bump system although Adol can also swing his sword with the press of a button.
- Typing of Ys - A normally hidden mini-game included with the PC version of the game Zwei: The Arges Adventure that can be unlocked provided certain conditions are met.
- Ys IV: Mask of the Sun: A New Theory - Taito's re-imagining of Ys IV: Mask of the Sun for the PlayStation 2. Features a combat system similar to Ys VI but much less refined.
- Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand (PS2) - Taito's re-imagining of Ys V for the PlayStation 2. Features the same combat system as the previous Ys Taito game and also incorporates certain elements from Ys V's original concept scenario into its story.
- Ys Strategy - A real-time strategy game for the Nintendo DS. Loosely based off of the series it's named after.
- Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga - A fighting game featuring characters from the Ys and Trails series, as well as other Falcom games.
Online and mobile
- Obscure mobile games - Several licensed card, pinball and puzzle mobile games featuring artwork, music and characters from various Ys games, as well as stripped down ports of various other entries in the series.
- Ys Online: The Call of Solum - A defunct PC MMO spinoff loosely based on the Ys series.
- Ys Nexus - A defunct Japanese-only mobile turn-based MMO featuring characters from the Ys series.
- Ys: The Five Dragons of Altago - A defunct Taiwanese-only mobile MMO based on the setting of Ys SEVEN.
- Ys VI Online: The Ark of Napishtim - A mobile MMO based on the setting of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.
- Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Mobile - An upcoming mobile MMO based on the setting of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.
