Seiten (斉天, せいてん, "Level Sky") was a yōkai who served under Tōga.
History
After the death of Tōga, Seiten and his partner, Kujaku, set off to fulfill Tōga's last request and destroy the Four War Gods, a quartet of powerful demons. They beseeched Tōga's son, Sesshōmaru, and pleaded with him in vain to enlist his aid in completing their quest. Sesshōmaru resolutely refused, showing utter indifference towards their plight, despite the fact that it was his father's dying wish that the Four War Gods be defeated. Therefore, Kujaku and Seiten attempted to fight the fearsome demons alone, though this proved disastrous. The first War God that the duo came up against was Kyōra, who easily killed them with his Birds of Fire technique. Kujaku was the first to die, and Seiten, while wounded, cursed Kyōra while attempting to get in another attack. Before he could do this, however, he exploded into flames. Following his death, Kyōra took Seiten's weapon, the Thunder Cannon, and gave it to his ally, Jūra. Sesshōmaru later appeared to fight Kyōra, though it is unknown why he did not step in to help Seiten and Kujaku before they were destroyed. While Kyōra was defeated, he was nevertheless able to escape and it would be another 200 years before he would finally be destroyed by Sesshōmaru in a rematch, and Seiten and Kujaku's deaths vindicated.
Personality
Seitan is shown to be a very loyal servant of Tōga. He and Kujaku beseech Sesshōmaru to fulfill his father's last request.
Powers & Abilities
Weapons
- Thunder Cannon (斉天砲, せいてんはう, "Seiten-hō"): This cannon originally belongs Seiten before he is killed by Kyōra along with Kujaku. His cannon eventually comes into possession of Jūra after Kyōra brought it to Hōraijima as a trophy.
- Endless Ammunition: The Thunder Cannon seems to have endless supplies of ammunition of thunder blasts.
Trivia
- The English dub pronounces the name as "Saiten", which sometimes leads to confusion due to his name as "Seiten" in rōmaji.
