Kokochu (蠱壺虫, ここちゅう, "Poison Pot Insect") is an urn which contains a strange demon/entity which when released. It enters the human body and takes control of it. The demon holds a ringworm-like appearance and has no powers on its own. It works under the orders of its hive handler Tsubo Tsukai, who keeps and raises it in the urn.
History
Naraku orders Tsubo Tsukai to manipulate Mushin, Miroku's guardian, using the Kokochu and kill Miroku. In the end, the hive handler was killed and the demon was forced out of Mushin.
Manga vs. Anime
- In the anime, Shippō is seen catching the Kokochu after Tsubo Tsukai is killed by Sango's Hiraikotsu in midair.
