Synopsis
- After Shippō and Inuyasha fight, Shippō gets separated from Inuyasha's group and encouters a young, human looking girl named Mujina.
- Mujina kidnaps Shippō and explains she wants to lure out Inuyasha and steal the demonic power from his Tessaiga and give it to her own Yōkai sword, Dakki.
Summary
- A skeleton-like demon has appeared in a village, and the villagers beg Inuyasha and group to help them. Inuyasha easily destroys the demon with his Wind Scar. Later the head of the village tells the group demons have been emerging from the forest for the past 3 days, almost as if they were afraid of something. At first the fleeing demons were small-fry, but now they're much bigger and stronger.
- Inuyasha relaxes by a tree and remarks they don't have time to help people, as Miroku and Sango have left to investigate. Shippō asks Inuyasha why he didn't go with them, and he replies that since demons have been fleeing from whatever the cause is, it just might come after him since he is a Half-demon. This scares Shippō since he is a full demon and might get attacked, too. Inuyasha and Shippō then bicker, ending with Inuyasha kicking the fox demon away.
- Something mysterious appears in the forest and Inuyasha asks it to show itself. When it doesn't, Inuyasha uses his Windscar on it, but the beast escapes. Inuyasha says he has memorized the scent, though.
- Meanwhile Shippō is in another corner of the forest, cursing Inuyasha for picking on him. He encounters another strange sound, and like Inuyasha, attacks it. He uses his fox magic, both his Snake Toy and Smashing Top, but both are nullified. Suddenly, a Girl appears with a demon blade. "You're with that half-demon using the big blade, right?"
- Mujina takes Shippō hostage and says she'll use him as a shield against the monster blade. Shippō asks why she's doing this, and she says she's doing it for her sword: she wants more demonic power to be absorbed by the blade. She explains the sword is Dakki, a blade that gets stronger off the power of demons it fights. After Shippō asks, she also admits she is the one all the demons have been fleeing from. She stole energy from small fry but wants Inuyasha's power next. She plans to steal all the power from Inuyasha's blade.
- Inuyasha and Kagome track Shippō's scent, as well as the other demon's, to Mujina's hideout. Inuyasha uses the windscar to destroy the hideout but Kagome Sits Inuyasha, reminding him Shippō is inside so he should be careful. Mujina and Shippō escape the blast of the windscar through a hidden tunnel, and Shippō thinks to himself he will never forgive Inuyasha for this.
