The Downhill Specialist (ダウンヒルスペシャリスト, Daunhiru Supesharisuto, "Downhill Specialist") is the tenth chapter of Initial D.
Plot
As it nears 10PM, the SpeedStars are surprised by the preparedness of the RedSuns, as they brought a van with spare tires.
Both teams are disappointed that the Eight-Six hasn't shown up. The SpeedStars hold out hope, but prepare anyway.
The spectators comment on the difficulty of the downhill, and doubt Akina will be able to beat the Takahashi brothers.
Fumihiro gets the all clear from the bottom of the mountain, and Kenji and Keisuke pull up to the start line. As the countdown begins, a message comes from the bottom of the mountain, a car is heading up. Iketani and Keisuke probe the lookout for the model and colour, and are shocked to hear that it's a Black and White Trueno. Keisuke calls off the countdown, choosing to wait for the Eight-Six, his actual opponent for the night's race.
Down the mountain, Takeshi Nakazato of the Myogi NightKids watches as the Eight-Six drives up the mountain, commenting on the aura of the driver. He thinks Akina might have a chance afterall.
Takumi looks at all of the spectators along the course, and feels out of place among them.
At the top of the mountain everyone excitedly waits as the Eight-Six finally arrives.
