Thomas Jacob "Jack" Black, born in Hermosa Beach, California, is an actor. He voices the saber-tooth tiger Zeke in the first Ice Age film.
Born in Hermosa Beach, California to parents Judith and Thomas William, Black claims his name may have come from the occupational name of "Blacksmith". At the age of ten, Black's parents divorced; with that, he moved with his father to Culver City, visiting his mother often. Taking on an early start in acting, Black's first role was in a commercial for the video game Pitfall! in 1982 for Activision, and in his high school years, he was entered into the Poseidon School, a private secondary school geared particularly towards students undergoing problems in the traditional school system. Black attended the Crossroads School, where he succeeded in drama, and later on went to UCLA but dropped out during his sophomore year so as to pursue a career in entertainment, causing his father to cut off his financial help. He has an extensive voice acting career in works such as Shark Tale, Kung Fu Panda, The Super Mario Bros Movie, Brütal Legend and Psychonauts 2.
