Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered on July 27, 2022.
Plot
In the new season, it's summer break! The Wildcats leave the hallways of East High for the ultimate summer at sleepaway camp, complete with campfires, summer romances and curfew-less nights.[1] Camp Shallow Lake, a family-owned sleepaway camp in California. With a high-stakes production of Frozen and a behind-the-scenes “docuseries” of the production in the works, the Wildcats will attempt to show who is “best in snow” without leaving anyone out in the cold.[2]
Production
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series was officially renewed for a third season on September 13, 2021. It was announced on November 12, 2021 the summer musical will be Frozen.[3] Pre-Production started on December 2, 2021 and ended on December 23, 2021. Filming was expected to start on January 6, 2022 and end on April 1, 2022.[4] Filming got delayed and officially started on January 18, 2022 and ended on April 13th, 2022.[5]

- This season will take place at a summer camp called Camp Shallow Lake rather than East High.
- Season 3 is going to contain not only songs from Frozen, but also songs from the Camp Rock franchise and the High School Musical franchise.
- This is the second Disney project Matt Cornett who plays E.J. Caswell and Meg Donnelly who will be playing Val have worked on together, the first being the Disney Channel Original Movie Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3 (2022).
