The Daybrink, known formally as the Great Lake of the Daybrink and occasionally called the Daybreak,[1] is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn. It served as a de facto border in the civil war between the Carja and Shadow Carja tribes.
Description
The Daybrink is the largest body of water in the Sundom, located in the west. It serves as the headwaters for Meridian's aqueducts.
History
In the Old World

The lake that would later be named the Daybrink was named Lake Powell in the Old World.[2]
In the New World
Brightmarket, built on the southern coast of the Daybrink originally marked the northern boarder of the Sundom. However, during the reign of Sun-King Zavarad, he successfully crossed the Daybrink, claiming the land to the north for the Sundom, having Blazon Arch built on the northern coast to honor his passage.[3]
Reports from the Forbidden West claimed to have found a lake one hundred times the size of the Daybrink.[4] In actuality, they had found the Pacific Ocean, known in the New World as the Great Ocean.
