Chillwater is a common resource in Horizon Zero Dawn and uncommon resource in Horizon Forbidden West.
This resource is a primary crafting ingredient for Freeze ammunition types.
Description
Chillwater is a pale blue liquid, used by machines as a coolant to regulate internal functions.
Uses
In Battle
The presence of Chillwater is indicated on a machine by Freeze Canisters. These canisters can be harvested from a machine by using Tear damage to detach them. Alternatively, these canisters can be triggered with Freeze/Frost ammunition to trigger an elemental explosion.
Freeze/Frost damage can be used to trigger the Frozen/Brittle state, temporarily increasing the damage received by attacks.
