
South Wales is the region of Wales bordered by England and the Bristol Channel to the east and south, and Mid Wales and West Wales to the north and west. South Wales is the most densely populated region in the southwestern United Kingdom, and it is home to 2,200,000 people, a third of Wales' population. It includes Glamorgan and Monmouthshire, as well as Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire under other definitions.
