Jannes was an Egyptian magician during the 15th century BC. In 1491 BC, the Pharaoh had Jannes and fellow magician Jambres cast down their rods and turn them into serpents, repeating Moses' trick with Aaron's rod. However, Aaron's snake ate both Jannes and Jambres' snakes.
