The Alt-right is a political ideology and political movement which is associated with ethnic nationalism, white supremacism, anti-Semitism, right-wing populism, nativism, and the neoreactionary movement. The alt-right opposes multiculturalism and immigration, and vigorously supports United States presidential candidate Donald Trump, who ran for President of the United States in 2016 as the US Republican Party nominee. The alt-right is also supported by racists such as David Duke of the Ku Klux Klan and Milo Yiannopoulis, a British blogger. On 28 September 2016, the "pepe" frog meme, which was a popular internet symbol and a symbol of the far-right (due to connotations of anti-Semitism), was declared to be a hateful image by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
