Hinomaru Zumō (火ノ丸相撲), is an anime series by Gonzo based on the manga of the same name by Kawada. It was announced in Issue 6, 2018 of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Background
The anime was first announced in WSJ (Weekly Shonen Jump) Issue 6, 2018.[1] On March 3rd 2018, a teaser promotional video was released, revealing a premiere date of October 2018. The video also announced the main staff and revealed a visual.[2] In WSJ Issue 13, 2018, main cast members were revealed for Oodachi High School's characters along with a new visual.[3] In WSJ Issue 31, 2018, two cast members were revealed for Oodachi High School's remaining characters.[4] In WSJ Issue 34, 2018, cast members were revealed for Eigadai Affiliated High School's characters.[5] In WSJ Issue 36-37 announced HIGE DANdism would be performing the opening theme song, while Omedetai Atama de Nani Yori would be performing the ending theme. The air date, time slot and channel(s) were also revealed.[6] In WSJ Issue 39 revealed the cast members for Ishigami High School Sumo Club.[7] In WSJ Issue 47 revealed four more cast members and the show's official website also revealed three additional characters.[8]
