Yuri Oreki is a teacher working for Hagun Academy and is Ikki’s homeroom teacher.

She is voiced by Izumi Kitta in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Molly Searcy in the English version of the anime.

Appearance

She is a young and beautiful woman, but looks sick most of the time due to how weak her constitution is as well as how much she vomits. She has long dark hair with bangs covering her forehead as well as her ears. Her hair is long enough to reach her back. Her usual choice of attire consists of a white blouse with long sleeves, a long dark skirt and high heels.

Personality

The kind-hearted Yuri cares for all her students, even faking a child-like and hyper personality to reduce tension between them. She also encourages faith in them as well.

History

She has been known to have a weak constitution since childhood.

In the previous year, Yuri worked at the entrance exams of Hagun Academy. One of the entrants was Ikki Kurogane, whom she was against entering due to how low his capacity of mana was. But Ikki challenged her to a duel to which she accepted. Ikki was able to prove his worth by first using his Blade Steal and his Noble Art, Ittou Shura, the latter being used to overcome Yuri’s Art, Violet Pain. He won by using a martial art to disarm Yuri and deal the finishing blow. Yuri accepted him into the academy and took a liking to him.

Trivia

As a result of her illness, Yuri very much knows about medicine, but has a habit of taking her pills like they were candy.
