Tatum Riley is the tritagonist of the 1996 horror movie Scream. The best friend of Sidney Prescott and the sister of Dewey, Tatum was a loyal supporter and moral compass to Sid until her death.
She was portrayed by Rose McGowan.
Biography
Tatum is Sidney's main heroine, best friend, especially in the first film. She made her first appearance in the first film. When she approaches Sidney as they're going to school, they talk about the brutal murders of Casey Becker and Steven Orth, other good friends of theirs.
Then, later they talk and hang out with their other friends Billy, Stu (her boyfriend), and Randy. They discuss the killings and movies. She and Sidney talk on the phone a little later.
When Sidney gets out of school that day, Tatum lets her know she'll pick her up so they can spend the night at her place sooner or later. That night, Tatum, calls her saying cheer leading practice ran late, but she's on her way and going to pick up a few movies or something. After Sidney's first attack, she goes with Sidney and other heroes to the Woodsboro Police Station.
Being the very loyal friend Tatum is, she helps Sidney out of the police station and to their home. She and Gale Weathers, didn't get along, nor did they like each other. Hence why she didn't want to talk to Weathers and told her not to ask Sidney questions.
She later congratulates Sidney on punching Gale. Then they discuss Billy and his arrest. Saying basically, in a nutshell, saying she knew he had a flaw. The next day, she, Sidney, and her boyfriend Stu talk and hang out at their lockers at school. Later, she asks Sidney if she and Sidney will go to Stu's party at his home.
Sometime after school gets out, Sidney and Tatum talk about Sidney's mother and Cotton Weary (the man who was convicted of the murder of her mom) and Gale and if the true killer is still out there. Later, they go grocery shopping for Stu's party. They talk about Billy again and she responds Billy, and his penis doesn't belong to Sidney. That night at Stu's party, Stu asks Tatum to get more beer from the refrigerator in the garage.
The door then suddenly closes while she's getting beer. Then Billy steps out dressed as Ghostface attacks her. At first, she thinks it's Randy, but then finds out it's not him. Billy kills her when she gets herself stuck in the big garage door.
