Hero Overview

Suiryu is a supporting character of the anime, manga and webcomic series One-Punch Man. He is a martial artist, won the tournament five time as the champion and also the top competitor in the 22nd Super Fight.

He was voiced by Alan Lee in English and Masaya Matsukaze in Japanese

Appearance

Suiryu is a handsome tall man with long black hair that usually tied in a ponytail. He has dark blue eyes and fulvous skin. He usually wears a black chinese martial arts uniform with star-shaped buttons on it and wears traditional chinese martial art shoes. Under his clothes, he appears to be very muscular and wears one metal on each of his upper arms.

Personality

Suiryu is a very charming man who often has a cheerful altitude. He loves fighting strong opponents but would rather spending times with females rather than training. As described by Sneck, similar to Saitama, he is so strong that he gets bored to the point where he can’t find a strong opponents to fight and entertain him. Because of that he is often seeking for a powerful opponent to fight, very much like Saitama.

When Gouketsu attacked and stopped the martial art tournament, he offered to Suiryu, other remaining martial artists and a few heroes to becomes monsters by eating monster cells, which Suiryu refused his offer without fear, despiste Gouketsu’s enormous size as a monster not knowing how strong the he is and tried to defend the other martial artist. After Gouketsu overpower him easily, since Suiryu’s attacks had absolutely no effect on him, he is shown in terror, tried to escape by crawling and screaming for help knowing that he stands no chance against the monster after he was beaten to death by him like the others. After being saved by Saitama while he was on the verge of death, he deeply respect and acknowledge him for saving his life, after killing both Bakuzan and Gouketsu effortlessly, which shocked him.

At first he disliked heroes, as he viewed and thinked them as hypocrites seeking for fames for their feeling of justices and heroic actions. But his view on them changed when Sneck and Max fought with him to fight Bakuzan, showing them respects and recognition, especially for Saitama, since he is always trying to find entertainment and not popularity as Suiryu is also one of the few people that is aware of how strong he is.

Abilities

Suiryu's strength is shown by his skills to defeat two A-Class heroes with a single kick each, displaying both his physical power and combat proficiency. Reaching the finals of the Super Fight tournament with little effort demonstrates further showed his natural talent as a martial art prodigy. During his fight with Saitama, Suiryu was able to display abilities comparable to those of S-Class heroes, even managing to make Saitama put some effort into the battle to avoid being eliminated.
