Salvador is one of the main playable characters in Borderlands 2 who joined the Crimson Raiders to help defeat Handsome Jack.
He is voiced by John Swasey.
History
Background
Salvador is one of the few that actually was born Pandora grew up liking the usually Pandora pass times of killing and guns. However though he loved killing he only killed bad people like bandits and psychos. After killing a group of bandits that was trying to kill his grandma Salvador was put on trial for murder and sentence to hang. Hyperion arrives during Salvador's trial and demand for the towns folk to lea e but are confused and the Hyperion soldiers open fire. Salvador then tells everyone to get down as he then kills all but one solders that he interrogates for information. Salvador learns about the vault and is curious. Jack over hears about what Salvador did and put him on the list for him to kill.
Borderlands 2
Salvador meets up with the other vault hunters and escape jacks trap. he then helps with the defeat of handsome jack and was happy to kill bad guys. he takes part in the other dlcs and during the Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax dlc a bandit named blendo arrived to kill Salvador for killing his whole bandit clan but is killed by Salvador's grandma who also sent a letter explaining why blendo was died.
Trivia
- Salvador is the only known playable character to be born and raised on Pandora.
- He has a tattoo on his index fingers, "Rite" on the right one, "Wrong" on the left.
- The gunzerking lines "Time to compensate!" and "Screw you Freud!" are a complex reference to Freudian psychology. According to Freud, firearms are considered to be symbols of masculinity, leading to the common belief that they are often used to overcompensate for poor self-esteem in men. Salvador's short stature is a classic definition of the Napoleon complex as well as the quintessential game theory definition.
- The "DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA..." quote is a reference to the Orks of the Warhammer 40k universe. Dakka is an ork word that mirrors the sound of the species' beloved guns, known as shootas.
- One of his gunzerking quotes "CHOW YUN FAT" is a nod to the Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat, especially his role in the 2003 action movie Bulletproof Monk. Chow was seen holding and using two pistols in both hands in promotional posters.
- Salvador's class mod is represented by ammo crates above his waist.
- Salvador can be seen on a wanted posted in Borderland 3's The Lodge. He appears to be wanted due to a long list of unpaid drinks on his tab.
- In Arms Race, Salvador reappears as an ECHOcast commentator.
