Norn Greyrat is a major character in the manga, light novel and anime series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. She is the younger sister of Rudeus Greyrat of the Greyrat household, the second child of Paul Greyrat and Zenith Greyrat, the older half-sister of Aisha Greyrat, and the stepdaughter of Lilia Greyrat. During the Teleportation Incident, Norn grew very fond of her father, the only one close by her side and took care of her while the rest of the family were scattered across the world. When Paul finally reunited with Rudeus, they fought unknowingly, causing Norn to grow some level of hatred for her brother since she despises anyone who harms her father. Eventually, Norn manages to build a great sibling relationship as she steps as a student into Ranoa Academy, and even becomes part of the school's student council.
She is voiced by Saya Aizawa in Japanese and by Bryn Apprill in English.
Appearance
As a child, Norn was a short girl with lime green-coloured eyes and blond orange short hair arriving at her chin with a cowlick at the top of her head. She wore a white beige-colored dress with black drilling borders at the bottom and two navy-colored cloth a pair of three buttons connected by cords each, along with a white ribbon around her neck, and white motifs at the bottom. She wore a pair of boots of the same white colors.
As she entered her teenage years, she grew taller while still practically maintaining the same features in her hair and gained curvy legs. She wore a dress of navy color, and a black layer underneath surrounded by golden accents. Her feet now wear a pair of brown boots. In her adult years, Norn has remarkably grown into a great-looking woman, inheriting a similar beauty like her mother. Zenith.
Personality
Norn formed a close connection with her father following their shared teleportation, which fueled her intense animosity towards anyone who caused him harm. This resulted in a strained relationship with her brother after he had a conflict with their father. Her persistent stubbornness kept them apart for many years, until eventually they built a good sibling bond for good.
Norn was brought up as a devout adherent of the Milis Religion by her maternal relatives, leading to her strong opposition to Rudeus's marriage to Roxy as a second wife, since their religion forbids polygamy. Over time, she came to accept Rudeus's multiple marriages. Norn also finds it difficult to reconcile relationships with large age differences, exemplified by her unrequited feelings for Ruijerd Superdia, which she deemed impossible due to their age gap.
Her father’s demanding career instilled a sense of independence in her, yet frequent comparisons to her high-achieving siblings fostered a deep sense of inadequacy. This nearly caused her to withdraw from others until she recognized the love and support from her siblings. Despite her diligence, Norn often finds stress challenging.
