
Mathilda Lando is the dueteragonist character appearing in the 1994 film Léon: The Professional. She is portrayed by Natalie Portman, who also plays Padmé Amidala in Star Wars, Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Nina Sayers in Black Swan.
Biography
She is a twelve-year-old girl who lives in a dysfunctional family in an apartment down the hall from Léon, an Italian hitman in the Little Italy neighborhood of New York City. After corrupt DEA agents murder her family, Mathilda seeks refuge with Léon, and eventually convinces him to train her as a hitman so she can avenge her younger brother's death. Mathilda develops a crush on Léon, but he does not reciprocate her feelings. Throughout the movie, Mathilda is portrayed as a determined and fearless girl who is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
