Marvin Branagh is a major character in Resident Evil franchise.
He is an officer of Raccoon Police Department, alleged director of the Bureau of Operations located in the West Office under the Leon S. Kennedy.
He is voiced by Rod Wilson in the original Resident Evil 2, Beau Billingslea in Resident Evil Outbreak, Lex Lang in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and by Christopher Watson in the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and by Fuminori Komatsu in the Japanese version.
History
Branagh has always been one of the best police officers of the Raccoon Police Department, loved and respected by everyone, his best friends are Rita Phillips and Kevin Ryman. The day everyone turns into zombies, panic breaks out in the city, Branagh files his work papers where they belong, and then joins the brawl and begins the investigation. Not long after the Raccoon falls into disarray and chaos, in which Branagh is put in command of the operation to save all the inhabitants of the city.
Raccoon City Outbreak and death
As the T-Virus outbreak reached Raccoon City, turning hundreds of thousands into Zombies, Branagh and the remaining survivors at the precinct made an evacuation plan as well as an offensive to fend off hordes of the undead. However due to Chief Brian Irons' orders of relocating resources and looting of firearms, which resulted in the precinct becoming an unimaginable nightmare, leading to the station to become overrun.
With only a handful of survivors despite the dreaded fate, Branagh still stayed behind and assisted survivors into escaping. Upon hearing a fellow officer, Elliot's suggestion of a secret passage, Branagh was hesitant to believe it. On the night of September 29, UBCS members Carlos Oliveira and Tyrell Patrick witnessed Branagh being bitten by an infected S.T.A.R.S. member Brad Vickers, whose decision to hesitate firing at a comrade eventually sealed his fate. He would later meet junior rookie officer Leon S. Kennedy after saving him from an attacking Zombie. Branagh informed him of the station's situation, telling him about the secret passage mentioned earlier, advising to either shoot or run any zombies he encounters.
Later on, Branagh succumbed to his injuries and transformed into a zombie himself. When the survivors returned at the police station's main hall later on, Branagh turned into a zombie. His fate is left unaddressed as to whether or not the survivor had euthanized him. However, it is assured that the destruction of Raccoon City at the early morning of October 1, 1998 has guaranteed his death.
