최강림 (a.k.a. Kanglim Choi in English or Choi Kanglim in romanization) is a major character in the Shinbi Apartment franchise. He is the boyfriend/love interest of Hari Koo, the son of Ryu and Guido Gon, and the adoptive younger brother of Guido-Hyun.
He is voiced by Young-Woo Shin in the original Korean dub and by Bill Rawts in the English dub.
Physical Appearance
Kanglim is a pre-teen boy who has black hair, light green eyes. His outfit is a Korean armor with a red cape on his back.
Personality
At the beginning of the series, Kanglim's personality was quite neutral. He was very quit and not affable. However, that was only until his mother was in danger which caused him to worry, and the goblin Shinbi was the only key for him to save his mother. That was the moment where he started to talk a bit more and become closer to his friends. Luckily, him, Hari, and Hari's brother Doori found a way to save both Shinbi and Ryu. After that moment, Kanglim started to hang out and talk more with Hari, Doori, Shinbi, and their friends Gauen and Hyun-Woo more often. As a result, they now currently all work together as a a team to stop evil spirits.
Powers & Abilities
Yellow Talisman
- 푸족 (pujok). Kanglim is a ghost hunter who uses a weapon called 푸족 (pujok), a Korean traditional yellow talisman that was meant to stop evil spirits.
- Signal Fire/Fire of Protection is one of the 푸족's card. If the ability of the card is being used, the 푸족 will burn into fire and unleash blade full of red flame, then allows the user to slash the opponent by burning or killing them down.
- Iron Beast is another one of the 푸족's cards. Slightly different from Signal Fire/Fire of Protection's abilites, Iron Beast possess the element of water instead of fire and flame. And when the Iron Beast is connected to the sword, it will turn to blue and will send a blast of stream water when the user is using the sword and which it will allow the user to send the opponent flying far away.
Swords
- During the entire franchise, Kanglim is able use the powers and abilities of swords to defeat his enemies.
- Exorcist Sword. Kanglim obtains the exorcist sword in season 2, using the sword allows him to possess ghost-repelling spells and shoot exorcism energy blasts from it.
