Kaede Otori is a minor supporting character in the Japanese romantic comedy anime and manga series Komi Can't Communicate. She is a high school student who is kind of airheaded, and is close friends with Nene Onemine, who often has to stick close to her and keep her out of trouble.
She was voiced by Yurika Moriyama in Japanese and Cherami Leigh in English.
Personality
Kaede Otori is extremely airheaded, and it's not often clear what she's thinking, or if she's even paying attention to her surroundings. Nene Onemine, her best friend, often has to keep close tabs on her, or Kaede can just disappear out of nowhere, and start doing something else, such as somehow obtaining a random chainsaw in a library, resting in a garbage can, or talking with someone else while Nene or someone is talking to her, just ignoring them. It's unknown if she's truly inconsiderate of people, or if it's some kind of extreme form of ADHD, which prevents her from being able to pay attention to one thing for more than a few seconds; it's never fully explained.
