
Jill Masterson is a heroine who appares in 007’s movie Goldfinger. Even though it doesn't have a very big role, it has a big impact in the film.
She was played by Shirley Eaton.
History
Jill is unintentionally involved in Auric Goldfinger's crime, quickly becomes his required lady to win at cards and to be "seen" with him, using her high-powered binoculars to see the opponent's cards and then communicates to Goldfinger the information he receives thanks to a fake hearing aid.
When Felix Leiter meets James Bond at the Fontainebleau, he explains that M wants information about Auric Goldfinger , especially his luck at the card game, and so he immediately realizes during a Gin Rummy game between Goldfinger and Simmons that it is a dirty game, and so he sneaks into Goldfinger's suite and finds Jill lying on a cot on the balcony.
Bond begins to question her; she continues to deny everything that is asked of her and realizes that their relationship is simply personal. Bond uses the Miami Beach radio and talks to Auric Goldfinger that if he doesn't give the money back to the rightful owners, he will call the Miami Beach police.
Jill realizes that Bond was right and runs away with him and then they also spend a romantic evening together, Goldfinger however enraged by Jill's betrayal and for losing money he sends his henchman Oddjob to kill her, and sadly he succeeds, causing her to pass out and then painting her entire body with paint. golden, causing it to die of skin asphyxiation. Her sister's, Tilly Masterson tries to avenge her multiple times, but always fails and eventually makes her the end of herself. Jill was finally avenged When Bond killed Goldfinger at the end of the film.
Trivia
- Unless one is to count Tatiana Romanova, Jill is the first Bond girl in the series to start out as a henchwoman to the main villain, before betraying their employer after being persuaded by Bond, though she is one of the few not to become an ally to Bond, instead only becoming his lover. This is a tradition that would be used in many more Bond films.
- Jill is the first woman that Bond fails to protect from death.
