Fredbear is the predecessor of Freddy and the very first animatronic created by William Afton and Henry Emily. He is a yellow bear animatronic featuring springlock suit mechanisms, that was decommissioned after accidentally killed William's youngest son in 1983. He is currently a ghost like animatronic known as Golden Freddy who is possessed by another murdered child named Cassidy.
