Flareon

Hero overview

Flareon is a Generation I Fire-Type Pokémon and one of the eight evolutions of Eevee. It evolves from Eevee by using a Fire Stone.

Appearance

Flareon is a quadrupedal, feliform, mammalian Pokémon with vivid flame-orange fur, yellow bushy mane, big, yellow, fluffy flame-shaped long tail and a tuft of yellow flame-shaped fur on its head. This Pokémon has a short cat-like muzzle, wide and black, shaped like almonds eyes, and a small black triangular nose. Its long and rabbit-like ears have flare-like tips. It has large and bulky paws with no visible claws. Flareon's body when not including the fluffy hair is generally bulkier than most of the Eeveelutions but is still slightly smaller than Vaporeon. Of all the Eeveelutions, Flareon resembles its pre-evolution the most.

Personality

Flareon are generally shy Pokémon as it was shown in "Eevee and Friends". It is very emotionally sensible and when it is nervous, it releases large amounts of heat through its fur. Flareon can also get shy when they meet new trainers, however, like most other Eeveelutions, it has a warm-hearted personality. Usually, Flareon doesn't like being the center of attention and they are altruistic and loyal Pokémon, as it would give its life just for its Trainer, similar to Espeon and Leafeon. Although Flareon has a warm-hearted and submissive personality, if it gets angry, it tends to be hot-headed and explosive.

Natural Abilities

Having a flame sack in its body, Flareon is able to breathe fire like other Fire-type Pokémon. Its body temperature can rise up to 1,650'F (898.88'C) before battle. The fire that is expelled from its mouth is even hotter, and can reach 3092'F (1700'C). Flareon's fluffy yellow mane can also release its internal heat so it won't not overheat.

Trivia

  • Shiny Flareon has a similar coloration as its pre-evolution, Eevee.
  • Flareon has the highest Attack stat out of all of Eevee's evolutions.
  • Due to its bulk, Flareon is the second largest and slowest Eeveelution, behind Vaporeon.
  • In the Generation VI games until Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition, Flareon's pupils are shown to not point forward, but at an angle.
  • In Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition, as Blue, the player's rival, uses Eevee as his first partner Pokémon, it is possible for him to evolve it into any of the three available evolutions at the time. In the case of Flareon, if the player wins the first battle at Prof. Oak's laboratory and then loses or skips the optional Route 22 match, Eevee will become this Eeveelution.
  • In the Pokémon Stadium series, Flareon turns around completely and shakes its tail from side-to-side, often directly at the player's view. This animation has not been re-used in other 3D-Pokémon games; though in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, when interacted with, it faces the trainer, tucks its paws together, lifts its rear, stretches, and waggles its tail-end in a playful manner, similarly to how a cat moves before it pounces.
