Farnsworth is a stuck-up passenger diesel engine in the 1991 film The Little Engine That Could.
He was voiced by Frank Welker.
Role in the film
Farnsworth sleeps in the roundhouse with Pete, Georgia, Jebediah, and Tillie one morning. He later gets pulled by Tillie to Tower. He tells Farnsworth to pull the passenger train over the mountain to the town. Meanwhile, Fansworth has already collected the passengers in the passenger train and on his way back to the roundhouse when he suddenly sees Rollo waving his red flag to stop him, much to his shock. He applies his brakes, but accidentally bumps into Rollo before stopping. He angrily stares at Rollo, who tries to explain with him, but is not able to say more when Grumpella interrupts him and tells Farnswoth that poor Georgia has broken down and can't pull the birthday train over the mountain and demands him to pull the birthday train over the mountain. Farnsworth can't understand what Grumpella tells him what to do. He tells them that he has some passengers in his express train where the passengers are sleeping in the bed, playing the music songs, enjoying the view (or at least trying to enjoy it) and eating dinner at the dining car and refuses to pull the birthday train over the mountain and then he oiled away to the roundhouse. After being mentioned by Tillie, he's not seen again for the remainder of the film so it's unknown how he'll react to Tillie reaching over the mountain.
